The Pre War Austin Seven Club's
Autokarna 2012 held in association with Nottingham City Council.
Celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee Weekend with us - see the Nottingham Beacon lit on the monday evening.
Following another fabulous event last year with a good bus entry despite the current financial climate we are pleased to announce plans for this years event. To be held over the extended bank holiday weekend.
For the first time the main event will be held over TWO days Sunday JUNE 3rd / Monday JUNE 4th. An additional road run will be taking place from Wollaton to a place of interest on the Saturday afternoon should sufficient interest be shown. All exhibitors who wish to participate in this optional run are welcome to do so. In is anticipated photographic opportunities will be arranged en route.
In addition our groups storage facility will be open on the Saturday from 0930 - 1330 for anyone who wishes to view our current projects normally hidden away from the public eye.
Road runs on suitably ticketed vehicles around the surrounding area are also planned for the Monday event.
Overnight camping pitches are available from Friday to Tuesday for exhibitors only, for the token fee of £10 total.
All Commercial Vehicle Clubs and societies are invited to exhibit at the event alongside all other preserved commercial vehicles. Other classes of vehicle should be entered via the Austin Seven Club's site in due course.
The event venue itself is spectacular. Set within the grounds of Wollaton Hall, with over 600 acres of parkland, including a lake, natural history museum and deer park the venue has something for everyone. In addition to the buses & commercials the 2011 event attracted over 680 other exhibits - making it one of the countries leading vintage, veteran, prewar and classic events. The 2012 event will be bigger and better as it also celebrates a milestone in the history of the Austin Seven Club. 90 years of the Austin Seven and 50 years of the Pre war Austin seven club.
There will be a large autojumble, the Nottingham Evening Post Motorshow, ample catering and bar facilities and a fun fair too should you need a distraction from the vehicles. Also scheduled over the weekend are fashion shows, a craft fair, dance band, Live music, face painting & a display of single seater Alan Wragg racing cars. Monday evening also sees the lighting of the Nottingham Beacon, a 8metre high Bonfire marking the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Basically something for everyone. Suggestions have been made for a carnival/street party in addition on the Monday but there is plenty of planning to do yet !
The event will run from 10am to 5 pm Sunday & Monday with the last exhibitors entry being 1130 each day - as we will then close the exhibitors gates to enjoy the days events ourselves.
If you wish to attend with a vehicle or vehicles please send in a form.
