Welcome to Nottingham Heritage Vehicles Charity, an East Midland based heritage transport charity whose aim is to preserve and restore local transport heritage for future generations.
NHVC is a registered Educational Transport Charity with a unique collection of vehicles from Nottingham & surrounding areas. With the collection spanning vehicles representative of the early 1900s to the only surviving Nottingham Bendybus of 2002, from half cab rear platform vehicles to the first of Trent Buses low floor minibuses. We have examples of vehicles depicting generations of travel and social economic history of our local area.
NHVC's "home" is the former Trent Motor Traction bus depot in Hucknall, a 1936 art deco style building - the fitting location for a transport charity with a fleet of vintage buses. We hope over the next 5 years to undertake necessary work on the building, restoring it to its former glory to possibly enable us to move from using it simply as a bus garage to one day developing a professional period style heritage visitor centre under the Nottingham Bus Museum banner. Pipe dreaming at present but you never know !
As we are undertaking so much work at present, and have so much more to do, we are throwing our doors open occasionally to host volunteer recruitment days for interested members of the public to join us for a look around and perhaps sample a vintage bus ride. Pure nostalgia but it may just get you onboard as a valued helper along with many others from the local community. The Charity has no paid staff so we operate 100% upon the efforts of people like you. Working members don't have to become friends of the charity through our support group so don't let that put you off. However if you wish to receive regular newsletters and be invited on the members days out then this is perhaps for you !
We are always looking to extend our volunteer numbers. Theres something for everyone. Please have a good look around our site and once you decide you would like to get involved please don't hesitate to contact us via the contact link at the bottom of the page

DIECAST MODELS WANTED
Our supporters at Transport Nostalgia are always looking at ways to assist the charity in fundraising, especially when trustees time is so precious.
They are currently looking for EFE and OOC models to resell
If you have a collection, large or small that may be of interest to them, please contact either Simon or Caroline on 07971105491
(or message below as they also maintain the Charity website on its behalf).
Transport Nostalgia offer a fantastic range of products ranging from photographs to bespoke street names wall art and cushions - all with a transport or nostalgia theme. They offer their support to the Charity by donating an element of their profit towards our projects. We are very grateful for this assistance and that of the photographers (such as B.Wright for the print above), and naturally the suppliers who in turn offer them the support they require to be able to offer this generous support along with maintaining our website and Facebook pages too. With a massive revamp currently underway we will be supplying links to their own pages shortly.
